Early morning along Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park did not disappoint. Fog was lingering in the valley as the sun began to illuminate the fall colors on the mountainside.
Some folks might think we had lost our sanity to leave in the dark, drive the winding mountain roads, dodge a few deer, and seek the perfect place to capture the sunrise.
I wondered a bit myself, as the wind began to pick up. All it took was the sun to begin to rise to prove it was worth all the effort.
All that was missing was Julie Andrews singing in the background, because that morning the hills were alive.
