Nothing is more refreshing than an early morning walk in the woods. On this cool October morning it would have been easier to stay at the cabin and enjoy another cup of coffee.
My photographer friend had finished a challenging hike the previous day, and was willing to take one last walk through the forest along Skyline Drive to capture macro images.
Walking up the trail she reminded me to keep looking for the basics. Macro photography is a delicate combination of the elements, photographic skill, and the willingness of the photographer to be creative.
On the way back to the city I stopped for coffee to savor one last peek of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Seeing the faint hint of fall colors I began to plan my next visit.
