Straw bales outline a makeshift racetrack on the main concourse of the fairgrounds. The more serious drivers brought their own Big Wheel and others used loaner vehicles for the race. As determined the NASCAR drivers they have seen on television, these drivers are focused on the track, race, and finish line.
Serious fun that will be one of many memories created at the Iowa State Fair.
This annual event is designed to showcase agriculture and rural living. Farmers, ranchers, and other residents of the rural community have the opportunity to explain their careers and goals to their urban neighbors. People from both cultures come together to have fun. Learning more about their neighbors is just one of the extra benefits of spending a day at the fair.
