A friend confided in me that when he needed to think he always walked a portion of a trail along the river. He referred to these walks as his nature therapy session. I have never seen the area he described, but found a spot of my own. This trail is in a woods not far from Washington, DC. It reminds me so much of the peaceful places where I go to think when I’m in Nebraska. The natural light along this trail focuses on the fence that serves as a railing over a shallow creek bed. It reminded me that, throughout our lifetime, we cross a lot of bridges, we use the railing as support to keep us from falling off track, and to stop us when we want to turn around. The natural light indicates there is something down that trail that needs to be seen and experienced. The walk continues.
