I can remember very vividly the first time I walked across a bridge. I was terrified. Afraid of heights, I couldn’t swim and was sure I was going to fall through one of the boards or the railing on the side into the water below. It did not matter that my cousin was holding my hand, promising to protect me from the evils of the bridge. The fact is I made it across that bridge and since then have crossed many bridges. Some were like the one in this image and others you will see featured in my portfolio. The ones made of concrete, wood, and steel provide pathways which have allowed me to learn about other cultures, meet new friends, and reach out to others in various communities across the country.
