One of the most famous landmarks in New York City, the neon of the marquee is as famous as the Rockettes, the precision dance team calling the Hall home for decades. Often times called the showplace of the nation, Radio City Music Hall has been the venue for over 700 movie premiers. One of those premiers was “Herbie Rides Again,” the Walt Disney sequel to the Love Bug on June 4, 1974. Two days later, our 4-H group from Nebraska viewed the movie on the big screen at Radio City Music Hall. Because it was premier week, our group of 119 teenagers in dresses and ties not only saw the third showing of the movie, we met some of the stars of the show including Herbie. Memories of that trip came flooding back when I was shooting this image.
