Row houses near Howard University in northwest Washington, DC, are overshadowed by more recently built structures. This scene is an example of a city that continues to struggle to meet the housing needs of a growing population and those who wish to preserve the historical aspects of the neighborhood. When I shot the image, I noticed the colors of the traffic light. The unique message in this image is the colors and the location of the traffic signals in front of the older homes.
