Cherry Blossoms in the Fall

Long after the blooms have withered away, the leaves of the cherry trees provide the color for a spectacular celebration of fall. The visitors attend the Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring have no idea what they’re missing in the fall. Beautiful fall colors in the city. In this image, the Jefferson Memorial is surrounded in shades of autumn. The bright rays of the setting sun illuminate the memorial and provide a natural accent for the leaves across the water. The cooler temps of summer accentuate the colors in the sky behind the memorial and, as the sun begins its final descent for the day, the last of its rays shine brightly on the memorial. This quiet scene is a festival in its own right and proves no crowds of people are needed to celebrate the beauty of nature.
